777 Challenge

In January of 2009, Hope Runs will be leading a Guinness World Record-breaking endeavor to complete 7 marathons on 7 continents in only 7 weeks. With a Hope Runs 777 Team of dedicated runners, physical therapists, and doctors, we are committed to bringing the youngest man and woman to ever complete such a challenge safely over the finish lines. At the same time, we also plan break the current Guinness World Records for number of days required to complete the challenge, and the fastest combined racing times for all seven marathons.

This event will help bring the issues facing the 14.5 million AIDS orphans in Africa alone to the forefront of the world's consciousness. By pushing themselves to the limit, the Hope Runs 777 Team will help raise awareness for the issues facing OVCs (orphans and vulnerable children) all over the world, mobilizing people everywhere to become more involved.

Each team member will cover her or his own costs and commit to reaching a fundraising goal. With all of the funding going directly to the children in homes where Hope Runs operates, the Hope Runs 777 Challenge aims to make a lasting impact in places that need it most. Join Claire, Lara, and their current participants today on this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Hope Runs' Mission: To use running and athletics as a gateway for the empowerment of AIDS orphans with the tools of personal health, social entrepreneurship, and technology.
